Arrive in Jasper and spend time exploring this picturesque mountain resort town at your leisure. Overnight in Jasper.
This morning you are free to explore Jasper on your own. In the afternoon, experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Jasper National Park on a half-day sightseeing tour, where you’ll explore stunning landscapes, look for wildlife, and visit iconic landmarks. Overnight in Jasper.
Departing early in the morning, travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper in the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops, in the heart of the British Columbia Interior. As you journey west and south, you will be surrounded by the dramatic scenery of the Continental Divide and by the river valleys of the Monashee and Cariboo Mountains. Today’s highlights include the climb over the Yellowhead Pass, Pyramid Falls, Mount Robson, and the journey along the North Thompson River as you approach Kamloops in the evening. Overnight in Kamloops.
Early in the morning, your journey continues eastward to the mighty Canadian Rockies and back to the province of Alberta. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the iconic glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff.

Passage to the Peaks

Can I travel to Vancouver on Passage to the Peaks?

Passage to the Peaks will be available on select dates in 2026 due to the FIFA World Cup taking place in Vancouver during June and July. With the city expected to welcome a significant number of visitors, we’re excited to offer an alternative route for those seeking a quieter experience. This special itinerary will feature the breathtaking highlights of the Canadian Rockies, including the iconic mountain towns of Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper, and is only available to be experienced in 2026

Passage to the Peaks is a two-day journey with an overnight stay in a hotel. A typical day onboard the train between Banff, Lake Louise, and Jasper ranges from 10-14 hours, allowing for ample time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the stunning scenery and luxurious service onboard.

All packages are available in both directions: you can start in Banff and go to Jasper, or start in Jasper and end your rail journey in Banff.

Yes, we have a range of optional add-ons available. Choose a half day tour following the famous Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefield Glacier Discovery Centre. Or spend the day exploring the spectacular natural treasures of Jasper National Park.
